  • Neighbors Emergency Center Honored to Serve San Angelo in First Year

    HOUSTON, Texas, September 7, 2017 – Neighbors Emergency Center San Angelo is pleased to recognize its first year of service to the local community. Neighbors Emergency Center San Angelo began seeing patients on August 27, 2016 and reports over 2,500 patients have received top-quality ER care at this location since it opened. The San Angelo center is located at 3417 Sherwood Way, 76901. The center’s phone number is 325-223-0075.

    The San Angelo location’s Medical Director is Antonio Bueso, MD, and the Facility Director is Christine Damewood, RN. Neighbors is a product of the community with medical teams living near the centers they work; therefore, Neighbors is aligned with local organizations and events that are important to the community and the patients it serves.

    “Neighbors Emergency Center San Angelo is proud to celebrate our first year anniversary serving the San Angelo community,” said Bueso. “We have treated hundreds of patients during this time and we look forward to treating thousands more in the years to come. We invite the community to join us on Saturday, September 30 for our first year festivities and we look forward to having San Angelo help us celebrate.”

    The community is invited to Neighbors’ First Year Celebration on September 30 from 5 – 8 P.M. for a Parking Lot Party. More details will be released at a later date.

    Neighbors San Angelo has taken part in many important local events with meaningful organizations over this last year. Being active in, and connected to, the San Angelo community is paramount to Neighbors, and part of what makes Neighbors Emergency Center the industry leader in freestanding ER care.

    Neighbors was proud to be a sponsor of the 2016 HEB Feast of Sharing on November 6. The feast was the culmination of a year-round commitment by local businesses to make steps toward ending hunger in the community. Neighbors’ mascot, Scrubs the Bear, joined the event that provided a holiday meal and good cheer for all in attendance.

    Honored to be part of San Angelo, Neighbors served as a Salvation Army Angel Tree sponsor, and members of the Neighbors family participated in the Reindeer 5K Run in December.

    Spring ushered in lots of activity as Neighbors San Angelo donated items and volunteered at the MS Walk on April 22 at Kirby Park. Neighbors was also pleased to be a sponsor of the San Angelo Healthy Families Children’s Fair on April 23. Children that stopped by the Neighbors booth were treated to a Scrubs the Bear mask as well as other fun giveaways.

    Having blood available can sometimes be the difference in saving a life, so Neighbors Emergency Center San Angelo proudly sponsored a blood drive on April 29. A bloodmobile parked at Neighbors San Angelo and accepted donations from all blood types with each pint of blood donated helping save up to three lives.

    To recognize the extreme sacrifice and service of local first responders, Neighbors Emergency Center San Angelo hosted “Breakfast for the Badge” on May 17. Saluting San Angelo’s finest, the ER staff welcomed local Police and Sheriff officers to the center for breakfast and coffee during Law Enforcement Appreciation Week.

    Neighbors has brought approximately 30 jobs to the San Angelo economy by hiring only board-certified physicians and medical teams with emergency room expertise that treat all adult and pediatric injuries and illnesses.

    Neighbors’ core values of being compassionate and patient-centered; treating patients in a nurturing and honorable way; having friendly and welcoming employees; and always being transparent, accountable and cost-conscious are demonstrated through these and numerous other events that Neighbors Emergency Center San Angelo was proud to contribute to during its first year in the community.
