Neighbors Emergency Center Pearland Helps Local Girl Scouts Earn First Aid Badge
HOUSTON, Texas, June 7, 2017 – Excited to teach the fascinating components of ER care, Neighbors Emergency Center Pearland welcomed Pearland Girl Scout Troop 142078 to the center on June 3. Neighbors Pearland is located at 11130 W. Broadway St., 77584. The center’s telephone number is 713-436-9600.
Each scout was instructed and given items to incorporate into their personal first aid kits. The troop learned how to clean a wound with hydrogen peroxide, how to apply pressure with bandages for bleeding, freezable ice packs for swelling, given hand sanitizer and an information sheet of when to visit Neighbors Emergency Center and what can be treated at an urgent care center.
“It was great to host the Girl Scouts because we feel teaching proper first aid technique and safety is very important,” said Neighbors Emergency Center Marketing Liaison Miranda Biehle. “This also gives these girls and their parents a better understanding of who Neighbors is and what we can provide to them if a medical emergency ever arises.”
This community collaboration is a direct link with Neighbors’ core values of having a compassionate heart, a creative spark and proudly serving the community we are honored to serve.
