Neighbors Emergency Center Proud to Serve Texarkana in First Year

HOUSTON, Texas, July 7, 2017 – Neighbors Emergency Center Texarkana is pleased to recognize its first year of service to the local community. Neighbors Emergency Center Texarkana began seeing patients on July 5, 2016 and reports nearly 3,300 patients have received top-quality ER care at this location since it opened. The Texarkana center is located at 2001 Mall Dr., 75503. The center’s phone number is 903-306-2126.

In its first year, Neighbors Texarkana achieved the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, a nationally recognized independent accreditation organization committed to certifying facilities with the safest, highest quality, best-value health care.

For freestanding emergency centers (FECs), this is a volunteer accreditation. Neighbors willingly holds itself to a higher standard of quality operation and clinical care than other FECs who have chosen not to pursue this rigorous accreditation. This elite endorsement aligns with Neighbors’ purpose of providing extraordinary care that is dedicated to Making Lives Better every day.

The Texarkana location’s Medical Director is Shannon Spigener, MD, and the Facility Director is Blake George, RN. Neighbors is a product of the community with medical teams living near the centers they work; therefore, Neighbors is aligned with local organizations and events that are important to the community and the patients it serves.

“We have been so happy with the reception we have received from the community as a whole and from our patients,” said Spigener. “It’s been a great year of growth, getting to know the people of this area and having the pleasure of introducing them to Neighbors and the concierge emergency medicine service we offer. We have also been fortunate to participate in and even sponsor many local events. It’s been a very successful year and we look forward to an even better future.”

Neighbors Texarkana has taken part in many important local events with meaningful organizations over this last year. Being active in, and connected to, the Texarkana community is paramount to Neighbors, and part of what makes Neighbors Emergency Center the industry leader in freestanding ER care.

Neighbors was proud to be a sponsor of the 2017 Texarkana Heart Walk on May 13. Teaming with the local American Heart Association chapter, Neighbors prides itself on positive affiliations that promote health and wellness. Neighbors was also pleased to host area royalty at the Heart Walk with Miss Texarkana, Miss Texarkana Teen, Miss Twin Rivers and Miss Twin Rivers Teen supporting the Neighbors purpose of Making Lives Better every day.

To honor all local champions of safety, Neighbors Emergency Center Texarkana hosted a “Heroes for Heroes” lunch on May 9. Texarkana, TX Police; Texarkana, AR Police; Miller County Sherriff’s Department; Bowie County Sheriff’s Department; Texarkana, TX Fire Department, Texarkana, AR Fire Department; Liberty Eylau Volunteer Fire Department; Life Net EMTs and Life Net Air were provided a complimentary hero sandwich lunch from Neighbors in appreciation of their never-ending service to the community.

Love was in the air as Neighbors was proud to be a sponsor of the “Heart of Love” Texarkana American Heart Association Heart Ball in February 2017. Neighbors was honored to participate in the important mission of saving and improving lives that are free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

To be Texarkana’s Best Neighbors Ever, Neighbors sponsored a canned food drive during the 2016 holiday season. The community was asked to donate non-perishable foods at Neighbors Texarkana and the collected items benefitted Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter. The shelter’s goal is to eradicate the cycle of homelessness by servicing individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Neighbors Texarkana was a proud sponsor of the Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” in October 2016. Besides having a presence and booth at the event, Neighbors sponsored a team that participated in the race where Texarkana resident Lisa Douglas served as the Neighbors team captain for “We Race as One”.

Neighbors has also brought approximately 30 jobs to the Texarkana economy by hiring only board-certified physicians and medical teams with emergency room expertise that treat all adult and pediatric injuries and illnesses.

Neighbors’ core values of being compassionate and patient-centered; treating patients in a nurturing and honorable way; having friendly and welcoming employees; and always being transparent, accountable and cost-conscious are demonstrated through these and numerous other events that Neighbors Emergency Center Texarkana was proud to contribute to during its first year in the community.
