Neighbors Emergency Center Wichita Falls Privileged to Serve City in First Year

HOUSTON, Texas, May 17, 2017 – Neighbors Emergency Center Wichita Falls is delighted to recognize its first year of service to the local community. Neighbors Emergency Center Wichita Falls began seeing patients on May 14, 2016 and reports more than 3,000 patients have received top-quality ER care at this location since it opened. The Wichita Falls center is located at 3939 Kell Blvd., 76308. The center’s phone number is 940-689-2060.

In its first year, Neighbors Wichita Falls achieved the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, a nationally recognized independent accreditation organization committed to certifying facilities with the safest, highest quality, best-value health care.

For freestanding emergency centers (FECs), this is a volunteer accreditation. Neighbors willingly holds itself to a higher standard of quality operation and clinical care than other FECs who have chosen not to pursue this rigorous accreditation. This elite endorsement aligns with Neighbors’ purpose of providing extraordinary care that is dedicated to Making Lives Better every day.

Besides exceptional ER care with short wait times, this Neighbors Emergency Center has also brought approximately 30 jobs to the local economy by hiring only board-certified physicians and medical teams with emergency room expertise that treat all adult and pediatric injuries and illnesses.

The Wichita Falls location’s Medical Director is Phuc Vo, MD, and the Facility Director is Amanda Meyer, RN. Neighbors is a product of the community with medical teams living near the centers they work; therefore, Neighbors is aligned with local organizations and events that are important to the community and the patients it serves.

“Being the ‘Best Neighbors Ever’ means more than just compassionate healthcare for our patients; it also means being a strong, positive presence in the community,” said Vo. “As we reflect on our first year of service, we are so proud to have been part of a group dedicated to supporting our community. We were happy to get to know the individual members of our local community on a daily basis, just by suturing your cuts, splinting your broken bones, and rehydrating you through the flu. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your neighborhood this past year.”

Being active in and connected to the Wichita Falls community is paramount to Neighbors and part of what makes Neighbors Emergency Center the industry leader in freestanding ER care.

Neighbors values its strong community ties and was proud to donate $1,000 to the Founder Lions Club of Wichita Falls Free Eyeglass Program at the ribbon cutting to open the Texas Oklahoma Fair in September 2016. Neighbors was also happy to sponsor a bouncy house in the children’s area of the Wichita Falls Multi-Purpose Events Center as well as host a Teddy Bear ER at the fair.

Valuing education, Neighbors Wichita Falls awarded its first scholarships to six Wichita Falls Independent School District seniors this school year that embody the core values of Neighbors Emergency Center. Those values reflect having a genuine heart, a creative spark and a nurturing mentality.

Leading with a compassionate heart, Neighbors Emergency Center Wichita Falls was proud to participate in “Operation Santa Claus” with the Wichita Falls Fire Department in December 2016. Neighbors was delighted to donate over 50 toys to help make the holidays brighter for area children in need.

Neighbors Wichita Falls hosted an evening of “Halloween Trunk or Treat” in October 2016, participated in the 2017 Home and Garden Show in February and helped local Girl Scouts earn their First Aid badge in April 2017.

Also, Neighbors Emergency Center enjoyed sponsoring the St. Patrick’s Day Festival in March 2017 where Neighbors’ mascot, Scrubs the Bear, was present to meet and greet festival goers and take photos with guests.

Neighbors’ core values of being compassionate and patient-centered; treating patients in a nurturing and honorable way; having friendly and welcoming employees; and always being transparent, accountable and cost-conscious are demonstrated through these and numerous other events that Neighbors Emergency Center Wichita Falls was proud to contribute to during its first year in the community.
